Chip Off The Old Block? – First Clip of Brandon Cronenberg’s “Antiviral” …and Boy It Is it Creeeeeepy #Cannes2012

It’s easy to dismiss Brandon Cronenberg as the son of Auteur David Cronenberg. Father’s connections and all that. However when it was announced that the younger Cronenberg’s first effort was going to screen at the 65 Festival de  Cannes as part of the Un Certain Regard programme, attention was caught.

The first screening was yesterday, and initial reactions are great. After seeing the clip below, I am not surprised. I am very, very intrigued by this movie. This clip alone is simply beautiful to watch. Even though it is short, it definitely sets the tone and if the rest of the movie is like this, we will be in for something really spectacular.

Check it out below and I imagine we will be seeing this at TIFF in a few months.
