What I shall now call ‘the Avengers Effect‘ has us seeing commercials for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises well in advance of the July 20th opening. I don’t think I remember seeing commercials this early on for the other two. The problem is that with commercials, the studio shows more of the movie than sometimes they want to show and with Nolan being as notoriously secretive as he is, this is a very odd move.

As fans, this is great.

Take this first spot focusing on Bruce Wayne. It gives a lot more to the story and shows some great scenes all packed in 30 seconds. I love what I saw and even though we still have The Amazing Spiderman, The Dark Knight Rises is very high on the eager list.

As if you already didn’t know, The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman,Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, and Marion Cotillard. It opens on July 20.
