First Look: Forest Whitaker as Eugene Allen in Lee Daniels’ ‘The Butler’
Straight from the New Orleans shoot Variety is bringing us this first look at Forest Whitaker as Eugene Allen, the White House servant who worked for eight First Families for the upcoming Lee Daniels (Precious, The Paperboy) film The Butler.
Alongside Whitaker the film features is coming at as with an all-star cast that includes Oprah Winfrey as Gloria Gaines, David Oyelowo as Louis Gaines, Liam Neeson, Aml Ameen as Eugene at a young age, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan, James Marsden as John F. Kennedy, John Cusack as Richard Nixon, Minka Kelly as Jackie Kennedy, Cuba Gooding Jr.as Carter Wilson, Nelsan Ellis as Martin Luther King Jr., Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson, Melissa Leo as Mamie Eisenhower and Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower. While that is a pretty stacked cast, that’s not all of them as the list goes on to include Alex Pettyfer, Colman Dingo, Vanessa Redgrave or Lenny Kravitz.
Oh and the Q Quincy Jones is scoring the picture. So no big.
There is no opening date yet because the film is without a distributor however that is more of a formality at this point more than anything.
