“It’s A Hard Knock Life…” – Trailer for the ‘Annie’ Remake No One Asked For Starring Quvenzhané Wallis & Jamie Foxx

It was announced and no one cared. We heard that Will Smith‘s kid wasn’t going to do it, so then we weren’t so annoyed by it. Now we have a trailer and you know what? That remake of Annie by the team of Jay-Z and Will Smith doesn’t suck.

Oh, it is wholly unnecessary and a shell of the original, however given the landscape, a nice safe family movie might actually make a ton of money.

The redo stars Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) in the title role as a young, happy, street-tough foster kid living with the mean Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz) who is taken in by New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) in a thinly veiled campaign move.

I don’t hate it, however if the interaction at the very end of the trailer with Foxx and Cameron Diaz is any indication, it might actually be not bad.

Annie opens in theaters on December 19th.

Check out the trailer below.
