The artists at Pixar have obviously redefined a genre and injected a new dimension to animated films. Starting from Toy Story all the way to the upcoming Brave, the Pixar touch has always been laced with a little bit of magic.  Recently, as I was surfing across the interweb, I came across these really great fan-made renditions of what other famous movie cars would look like if they had been in the movie Cars.

While these pictures below are not official Pixar images, they are pretty damn good. If this artist hasn’t been hired on by the studio yet, I would imagine he would be pretty damn soon.

Check out some very cool renditions of Tim Burton‘s batmobile, the Back to the Future Delorean, Herbie the Love Bug and many more. They are a ton of fun and another reason why the fans should always be followed.

I seriously, seriously need to have these.

The Muppets dressed as Star Wars characters is the most brilliant idea ever.

Don’t think so?

Well stop reading this blog.

Seriously..go away.

How can you not love Beaker as C-3PO/Dr. Bunsen Honeydew as R2-D2, Link Hogthrob as Han Solo/Fozzy the Bear as Chewbacca, and Sam the Eagle as Obi-Wan Kenobi/Gonzo as Darth Vader with his chicken Camilla serving as a Stormtrooper. And of course, it wouldn’t be the Muppets with Kermit and Miss Piggy who are Luke and Leia. Hold on…aren’t the dating?

Awkward.

Anyways, here are some images.

Enjoy.

On September 18, 2011 I literally jumped off my bed. There was great news.

Just hours before the clock struck 12am, and the next day began its quest, the Queen of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit tweeted that she will be relocating back to India. What could be better than this?

What can this mean for Bollywood? For years now, there has been talk that Bollywood has been missing that one great face that resembled and represented the Indian culture and it’s rich traditions, that the industry that was once known for elaborate color and intricate dance was missing its muse. The woman who was considered sheer poetry in motion with her intense and intimate facial expressions and fluid dance movements was blissfully content in marriage and motherhood with her relocation to Denver, Colorado in the U.S. She was missing from the limelight.

Almost 8 years later, she made a comeback in the Yash Raj Film’s musical, Aaja Nachle that teased audiences with Madhuri’s sheer magnitude on screen and her ability to be so authentic in her portrayal of a character after being away for so many years. Not to mention, Madhuri is synonymous with song and dance with the string of hit dance numbers she moved to from the late 80′s to 90′s. Aaja Nachle could not be without a hit dance number either.

“Aaja Nachle” from Aaja Nachle

During her brief spotlight in 2007 with Aaja Nachle , Madhuri claimed that she never left the film industry, she just decided to take some time for herself. In 2010, three years later she came back on the small screen with hit dance reality television shows Jhalak Dikhlaa Ja and has kicked off 2011 with Food Food’s Maha Challenge. Yet, each time she takes a break or begins work after a prolonged gap…she is touted to be making a “comeback”. This is just proof that her absence is felt in the film industry. The Bollywood audiences want Madhuri around all the time. Her acting prowess and her dance capabilities make her one of the very few natural talents India has today, especially in the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood.

What’s more? Madhuri’s hit dance numbers such as “Choli Ke Peeche“, “Dhak Dhak Karne Laga“, “Maar Dala” (only to mention a few) continue to live on. They have become cult classics, hailed as emblems in Bollywood cinema, dance moves and facial expressions that current actresses aspire to recreate. Also, their timeless popularity has also secured Madhuri a spot in the hearts of the youth and current movie goers – everyone, young and old know who Madhuri is.

It’s just fitting that she returns to India. Bollywood needs an actress of her caliber and many of the actresses today need another reason to try harder at what they do.

The folks who are marketing the upcoming Muppets movie are doing a stellar job of it so far. They have managed to properly poke fun at pretty much every heavy-duty summer blockbuster in a light-hearted and fun manner.

That streak of hilarity is safe with their offering in the form of a poster that ‘emulates’ the movie Captain America.

Sam the Eagle has always been one of my favourite characters with my nerd-love for him vaulting a few dozen spots with his hilarious appearance in The Muppets Christmas Carol.  He is the perfect choice to lay down the gauntlet and show Captain America who’s boss. Mind you, it wouldn’t be close but it would be fun to watch.

Check out the poster and make sure you check out the Muppets movie coming out this fall. And if you haven’t seen Captain America yet, run don’t walk because it was  a fantastic, fun movie and really the only good superhero movie we had this summer.

Star Tours just opened up after being revamped and to help promote, the good folks at Disney created this hilarious spot of Darth Vader and a couple of his stormtroopers ‘taking in the sights’.

I dare you to not laugh. :)

Love me some fan-made stuff. Especially when it is about one of the most anticipated films right now.

Here is the thing, with most of these fan-made things, it is glaringly obvious that it is some dude in a basement hacking around in iMovie.

Then there are the ones that just blow your mind and leave you yearning for the movie even more.

We really know nothing about Dark Knight Rises, which is part of Nolan’s plan. In the meantime, a glimpse like this isn’t all that bad.

What say you?
