Last we left [the films of] of series, we were graced with a pretty brilliant overview of David Fincher films.
Next up, [the films of] Wes Anderson. Anderson is one of those quirky filmmakers where you either love him or hate him. He’s weird and wonderful all wrapped into one.
I loved Bottle Rocket and the Darjeeling Limited has really grown on me over the past few years. I also really enjoyed Fantastic Mr. Fox, however I think that has more to do with my man crush on Clooney.

These are pretty awesome.
Created by Mike Kungl, Cliff Chiang, Joe Corroney, and Dane of Monkey Minion, these are some great Star Wars posters in the same vein as WWII propaganda posters.
My favourite one is the Darth Vader one, ” He Can’t Do It Alone “.
What say you?

This is genius.
The infographic speaks for itself and is hilarious.
I am not going to go into the fact that it really makes me feel old right now. I also won’t go into the fact that it only goes up to age 35 and I am *ahem* *cough* older than that.
Enjoy

I love me some fanmade stuff.
Some of the geekiest and funnest experiences on the internet are fans nerding out and creating their own content to celebrate their fandom.
Case in point is Kees van Dijkhuizen. He has decided to create a twelve-part series showcasing the work of twelve of his favourite directors. He has already started with a couple videos showcasing the films of Sofia Coppola and the films of Danny Boyle.
His latest one is my favourite so far as he featuring the works of the great David Fincher. Hot on the heels of The Social Network basically kicking ass and taking names, this video is the perfectly telling of a great director’s career…. so far.
Things like this make me eager as a film nerd because far too often you don’t really get a chance to look back at a career until it’s towards the end in some Hall of Fame-type ceremony. In this case, we are smack dab in the middle of it and with a slate of great films coming up, this video brilliantly captures the essence of Fincher.
What makes the video that much more awesome is that it manages to capture the perfect way that Fincher uses music. With a soundtrack that has Kanye West’s “Power,” Working for a Nuclear Free City’s “Silent Melody,” and Arcade Fire’s “My Body is a Cage”, how can you go wrong?
The films featured in the montage are:
Alien 3 Seven The Game Fight Club Panic Room Zodiac The Curious Case of Benjamin Button The Social Network
Not bad at all.

The only commercial that anyone still remembers from the Super Bowl was the VW one with the cute kid who thought he was Darth Vader.
In a really brilliant move, the good folks in the Marketing Department at Marvel created a commercial that parodies VW’s except instead of a pint-sized Darth Vader, we have ourselves a little mini-Thor.
I laughed out loud a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is smartly executed and the ending is hilarious.
There are also some great nerd nuggets in it:
- the mom’s coffee mug is from Stark Enterprises - the license plate spells Asgard, Thor’s home - the dog’s name is Loki, Thor’s adoptive brother and arch-enemy
Did I miss any?
Have a look:
