I really enjoyed the last episode. We only have two episodes left and it seems Aaron Sorkin is going in for his typically incredible end of season one cliffhanger. It makes me feel a lot better knowing that we already have a season two greenlit.

Check out the preview for the next episode above which has been named ‘The Blackout Part II: Mock Debate’.

Episode Synopsis: Will and the “News Night” staff stage a mock debate for a pair Republican Party officials. Mac has an epiphany during a power outage; Charlie vets the credibility of an NSA insider; Lisa (Kelen Coleman) goes off-script during an on-air interview; Neal goes undercover as an internet troll.

Written by Aaron Sorkin; directed by Alan Poul.

The Newsroom airs Sundays at 10pm on HBO

About the Show From the mind of Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing and screenwriter of The Social Network and Moneyball,  comes The Newsroom,  a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make a nightly cable-news program. Focusing on a network anchor (played by Jeff Daniels), his new executive producer (Emily Mortimer), the newsroom staff (John Gallagher, Jr.Alison PillThomas SadoskiOlivia MunnDev Patel) and their boss (Sam Waterston), the series tracks their quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles-not to mention their own personal entanglements.

The characters are settling in nicely; Aaron Sorkin is reaching his comfort level as far as his particular type of storytelling. I am very happy with how things have shaped up with The NewsroomWe are coming down to the last few episodes which can only mean that the best is yet to come. If Sorkin does what he does, then we are in for a doozy of a season finale with a pretty great lead-up considering all the storylines that have been seeded and will be more than likely concluding.

Check out the preview for the next episode above which has been named ‘The Blackout Part I: Tragedy Porn’.

Episode Synopsis: “News Night” refuses to lead with a pair of sensational stories, which causes ratings to plummet – and forces Will (Jeff Daniels) and Mac (Emily Mortimer) to abandon their principles in order to lure viewers back and shore up the network’s bid to land a Republican debate. Will auditions an unlikely scribe, Brian Brenner (Paul Schneider), to write an all-access profile; Sloan (Olivia Munn) chafes over her lack of air time to report on a critical financial crisis; Charlie learns the identity of an NSA whistleblower; Neal (Dev Patel) pitches an internet sting.

Yeah, this next series is going to be pretty damn awesome. First we got a bad-ass promo pic and now we have a trailer that can be quite literally described as epic. There are a few shots in there that gave me goosebumps. Glad to see the Weeping Angels are back (not really) and I’ll I have to say is “Dinosaurs On A Spaceship!”

I have said it before and I will say it again, even though I love David Tennant‘s take on the good Doctor, I am very much loving Steven Moffatt‘s take on the character and to me, Matt Smith is a much better Doctor.

For those who don’t know, this is Amy and Rory‘s last series as they are leaving the show with a new companion coming on aboard. I will say this, I will miss Amy Pond. It will be very hard to match the chemistry that Karen Gillan and Matt Smith have.

Oh well! Onward and upward as they.

What say you?  You feeling this trailer like I am?

It’s been way to long since we have had new Doctor Who in our lives. I know you agree with me, so it is with this excitement and anticipation that I unleash upon you this new promo image for the upcoming season of Doctor Who.

Tell me this doesn’t unleash the fanboy in you.

But wait there is more. Turns out there will be a trailer launched tomorrow (Thurs. Aug 2nd) during the Olympics. Stay tuned folks because you know we’ll have it here.

Until then, bask in the glory of The Daleks and the fire they are unleashing on the good Doctor.

ps..click on it to make it all big and stuff.

We are seven episodes into Aaron Sorkin‘s The Newsroom. The show has settled into a nice pace with the characters slowly shaping into people we really care about. This pacing is pretty much on time with how Sorkin established The West Wing, so I only expect it to get better from here. The last episode was great and after watching the preview for the next one, I am definitely starting to ramp up for the first season finale which Sorkin always does so well with.

Check out the preview for the next episode above which has been named ’5/1′.

Episode Synopsis: While the staff is busy celebrating their one-year anniversary party,Charlie gets an anonymous tip about an upcoming televised speech by the president, prompting the “News Night” staff to switch gears and focus on what it could possibly be.

Up here in Canada, Showtime’s critically acclaimed series Homeland has been flying under the radar which is rather unfortunate as it is a great watch. Very well written, the show is powered by some fantastic acting from its stars Damien Lewis, Claire Danes and the always awesome Mandy Patinkin.

I love how original the show’s plot is :  ”Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody returns home eight years, after going missing in Iraq. Carrie Mathison, a driven CIA officer, suspects he might be plotting an attack on America.”  As season one unfolded last year, the show got better and better leaving us with quite the cliffhanger.

A new trailer for Season 2 just dropped and from the looks of it, the show is picking up right where it left off which is fantastic news in my books. It’a a bit weird, however if you caught season one, it really does fit.

Season 2 begins on Showtime on September 30th.
