Shephard Fairey has managed to carve out a very interesting and significant niche for himself. To some he is known as the dude who got President Obama elected with his iconic image whereas to some he is the dude in Bansky‘s Exit Through The Gift Shop.

Regardless of how he is perceived, the fact of the matter is that he has helped shape the counter-culture that laid the groundwork for the creation of things like Occupy Wall Street.

While this is the not the first time ’1984′ has been made into a film, (the most famous one starring William Hurt), and other films like V for Vendetta very much elicit a similar response through a very similarly inspired message, this take of the story might be interesting as Fairey has a different way of looking at things of this nature and would definitely inject some of that sensibility into it.

Let’s see what happens.
