A new trailer for Jerry Bruckheimer’s The Lone Ranger directed by Gore Verbinski just dropped over in Russia and more and more I am getting on board with this one.

I have been a bit on the fence about the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer-produced, Gore Verbinski-directed next supermovie series The Lone Ranger starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer.

Outside of a trailer, the poster and the Super Bowl spot, we haven’t seen much from the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced, Gore Verbinski-directed next supermovie series The Lone Ranger starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer.

The first trailer for Gore Verbinski‘s The Lone Ranger starring Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as the iconic kemosabe made it seem like it was Tonto’s movie.

One of the defining moments in Tom Hooper‘s Les Misérables is when the cast sings the iconic song that ends the first act of the musical, One Day More. It brings all characters of the musical together into one unit on stage and does so and then some when it is performed in the movie.

After seeing the film a little while back, my immediate thought was that Universal really missed some opportunities with their marketing. Sure you have to get to people not that familiar with the musical to get on board and invest the 2.5 hours the movie runs, however if you want to get the diehards (and there are a ton of them around the world), just put the major numbers out there for the internet to swallow up and pass around.

They teased it very successfully with Anne Hathaway in the first trailer, however now somewhere in Spain, someone decided it would be a good idea to release the sequence for One Day More.

Brilliant.

Check it out below and while it is pretty damn great, I can’t stress to you enough how much better it plays on the big screen within the flow of the movie.

Still it is pretty fun to watch an icon be redefined.

It is a foregone conclusion that Tom Hooper‘s Les Misérables will definitely play when the Oscars are announced. The current buzz emanating from the New York and Los Angeles pre-screening is pretty loud and wholly justified.

To back up this momentum, Universal Studios has released four new featurettes for the film. These behind the scenes looks give us more of an understanding on how the costumes, the hair and make-up, the production design, and the original song Suddenly all came together.

It is all pretty fascinating stuff and definitely worth a look.
