I have said it before, until the last trailer for Judd Apatow‘s latest, This Is 40, I haven’t been feeling what I have seen. Then the trailer dropped and I became intrigued. Now Universal Studios has released a behind the scenes red-band featurette of the film that has me looking forward to the film. It focuses on the main couple, Pete and Debbie, played by Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann with Apatow explaining why he chose to bring back those characters for this kinda, sorta sequel to his smash hit, Knocked Up.
There is a lot going on this holiday season and this film has inched its way onto my ‘one to watch’ list.
This Is 40 also stars Albert Brooks, John Lithgow, Iris Apatow, Maude Apatow, Megan Fox, Jason Segel, Robert Smigel, and Charlyne Yi.
This Is 40 hits theaters December 21st.
Check out the featurette below:
About This Film This Is 40 is by writer-director Judd Apatow (40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Funny People) and is sort of an unofficial sequel to Knocked Up, following the characters Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) from the 2007 comedy as they deal with aging and the trials and tribulations of having a family in this day and age. Jason Segel also reprises his role from Knocked Up while new cast members include Megan Fox, Albert Brooks, John Lithgow, Chris O’Dowd, Melissa McCarthy, Lena Dunham and Apatow’s kids Maude and Iris.

Truth be told, I think I am one of those people in the minority it seems as I am not a huge fan of the Judd Apatow humor that drives his comedies. To me Knocked Up was his only really good film and the rest were just uninspired copies of it, (except for Funny People, that was a refreshing movie that definitely needs more accolades).
So when the teaser trailer for his new one This Is 40 dropped earlier this summer, it didn’t really do much. Now that the big major releases are done and we are down to the holiday movies, I revisited the second trailer that dropped awhile back, after seeing a new poster they just released (which is below), and have to say, this doesn’t look too bad. Maybe because it is a sorta, kinda unofficial sequel to Knocked Up that it has me intrigued. I will definitely give this a watch after seeing the trailer below which I implore to check out. Am I wrong?

The good folks at Collider have five new clips from the upcoming comedy The Five-Year Engagement. When the movie first started dropping trailers and clips I was kind of on the fence mainly because Emily Blunt, while being super talented, is not known for comedy.
I should have known better when Nicholas Stoller (who directed Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Jason Segal are involved. Having both co-wrote the script, they have armed Blunt with everything she needs to pull off her foray into comedy.
These clips sealed the deal. I actually really want to see this now as there are some scenes that show a maturity that was missing in Forgetting Sarah Marshall for me.
Check out the Collider embed below for the clips and as a refresher the trailer is below the clips plus a pretty dope tweet Jason Segal sent out encouraging people to check it out.
The film also stars Emily Blunt, Chris Pratt, Alison Brie, Rhys Ifans, David Paymer, Mimi Kennedy, Jacki Weaver, Jim Piddock, Kevin Hart, Brian Posehn, Mindy Kaling. The Five-Year Engagement opens on April 27th.
About the Film The director and writer/star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall reteam for the irreverent comedy The Five-Year Engagement. Beginning where most romantic comedies end, the new film from director Nicholas Stoller, producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) and Rodney Rothman (Get Him to the Greek) looks at what happens when an engaged couple, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle. The film was written by Segel and Stoller.

Holy crap I wish they had put this scene in the movie. I love Beaker and this scene is great. I guess that is what Blu-Rays are for, so that we can see the deleted scenes and judge for ourselves. I vote for this to have been in. Pick it up for yourself (which launches March 20th).
It just so happens that we have also launched a contest where we are giving away Blu-Rays to 5 lucky winners. So head over to the contest page to find out how to enter for your chance to win!
In the meantime, you will just have to make do with this deleted scene about Head Bowling.

Statler: Hey Waldorf, what was you favorite part? Waldorf: The credits! Both: Dohohohohoh!
Just when you thought you were done with The Muppets, ladies and gentleman, I bring you : The Muppets Blu-Ray dropping in stores March 20th
And of course we are running a contest to give a Blu-Ray to 5 lucky winners. To whet your appetite and get you in the mood to go and buy one of these bad boys, behold the official Blu-Ray trailer!
We are a mere week away from The Oscars. Lots to talk about, lots to predict. There will be time for all of that, however for now we have a very important piece of business to speak of.
With the travesty of the Original Song Nominees not performing for the first time ever in the history of the Oscars, the question is now what will happen to the Muppets? Will they show up? Will the Academy relent and allow our new favourite Muppet Walter and his BFF Jason Segal to sing the brilliantly written “Man or Muppet”? Will we see Kermit in a Tuxedo?
Well, it seems that we have answer to at least one of those questions.

Turns out the Muppets are indeed going to be at the 84th Academy Awards taking place on Feb 26th from the Kodak Theatre. Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog are going to be representing for the whole crew by presenting an award. It hasn’t been announced which one yet, however the question is : Does it really matter? Think about it, the Muppets and Billy Crystal.
The dynamic duo will be joining an already stellar lineup of presenters including Halle Berry, Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Melissa McCarthy, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, Ben Stiller, Emma Stone and Kristen Wiig.
Sure we are going to be all watching. Now we have an awesome reason. This doesn’t make up for the lack of Best Song Nominees performing. So please Oscar producers, hurry up and get on that.
