The season premiere for Season 3 of the wildly popular Game Of Thrones is quite literally around the corner. To get us in the mood, (like we really need to), HBO has been unleashing a mountain of marketing including this nice little promo spot aptly named Beast.

The trailer for Season 7 Part II of the ridiculously awesome BBC series Doctor Who starring Matt Smith as the good Doctor and Jenna-Louise Coleman as his new companion.

With the season premiere of AMC’s monster hit Mad Men around the corner, we are starting to get the marketing stuff coming at us pretty heavily now. Yesterday was a great poster of the two Dons, last week was a very a stylish teaser and now we have a featurette with the cast talking a bit about the upcoming season.

Hot on the heels of it’s record-breaking season premiere, we are now getting the news that The Walking Dead has been picked up for its third season. Given the turmoil of the summer when they lost their showrunner Frank Darabont, there was a bit of a question on how the series would fare this season.

After opening with 7.3 million viewers watching, (the most ever in basic cable for a premiere), this renewal is really not surprising at all.

Today we are pleased to announce that the ‘dead’ shall live as we proudly renew The Walking Dead for a third season on AMC and, globally, with our terrific partners at Fox International Channels,” said Charlie Collier, AMC’s President.

It seems that the viewership is not going away either. In its second week, The Walking Dead only slipped a bit to 6.7 million viewers. And it seems that this is not a local phenomenon. Fox International Channels rolled out the series premiere globally this weekend and quite literally broke pay-TV ratings records’ across the world bringing in another 10 million viewers from 122 countries.

Nicely done.

First we had Ashton Kutcher in a promo shot for his new role in Two And A Half Men, now we have a promo photo of him in the curtain shot at the intro where they do the ‘men, men, men, men’ bit.

This is not a shot from the filming of the actual new opener which I would imagine they would have to film relatively soon, it’s just a promo shot.

Everything seems to be moving forward at a pretty predictable pace. Now let’s see about that season premiere.

What say you?

I have been into A&E’s Breakout Kings from the minute it premiered. It is a smart, funny and well-paced TV show that while not the best thing you will ever see your in life, it does provide an hour of fun and mindless entertainment.

Coming from the same folks who brought you Prison Break, the show was originally suppsed to be at Fox until they passed on it at which point A&E picked it up.

It is for this reason that I am thrilled to let you know that the show has been renewed for the 2012 season.

I for one will be glued to my TV on the night of its second season premiere.

Hopefully I will see you there.
